Первый слайд презентации: THE USE OF THE INTERNET WHEN LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN AN INSTITUTE OF HIGHER EDUCATION
The widespread use of electronic devices, resources and technologies of the Internet is an irreversible phenomenon in the life of every modern person.
The most favorable conditions are created for people who study foreign languages, since they get new opportunities in their activities through the use of the Internet.
The vast majority of Internet resources are presented in foreign languages, primarily in English. Not to use such a storehouse of information means to miss a great chance of education and upbringing of young people.
However, in order for access to the Internet to bring real benefits, the user must possess an information culture that includes such essential components as computer literacy, the ability to select high-quality material, its critical understanding, and systematic and competent use of Internet resources in his/her activities.
The use of Internet materials makes it possible to create conditions for practical mastery of a foreign language, for the development of students' communicative competencies, for increasing motivation to learn and for activating students' independent and creative activities.
The use of Internet resources may be much larger than the curriculum. The main achievement in this case is to immerse the student in an authentic language environment.
