Geographical position and physical features
United States (orthographic projection) The United States of America ( the USA) is situated in the central and southern part of North America.

The USA is washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the east and by the Pacific Ocean in the west. In the north the USA borders on Canada and in the south - on Mexico.
The United States is the world's third largest nation by total area (land and water), ranking behind Russia and Canada. The land area of the United States is about 770 million hectares.
