What is the name of this factory (in Russian)? How old is it? How many tons of garbage do they separate every year?
What do “the 3 R’s” mean?
Reduce means finding ways to decrease, or lessen, the amount of garbage we throw away. In simple words : to buy less and use less.
Reducing the amount of garbage you throw away is important because we are running out of landfill* space to put our garbage ! * landfills, or garbage dumps, are huge holes in the ground where garbage is buried.
We will not have any space to put our garbage!

Reuse means finding ways to use things over and over again instead of throwing them away. In simple words: use everything more than once
By reusing, we are saving our landfill space and, equally important, we are saving natural resources and materials it would take to make a new product.
